Becoming an academic neurosurgeon: A short course in research, methodology and output

We are excited to announce the “introductory symposium” for the research course hosted by Young African Neurosurgeons Forum (YoungCAANS):

Becoming an academic neurosurgeon:
A short course in research, methodology and output

24th of April

Neuroscientist Dr. Ursula Rohlwink has brought neurosciences into a common basket by highlighting the five blocks required to embark on research for the novice surgeon-scientist. The course will be run over a six-week cycle for the remainder of the year.

Join the experts in the field, including Prof. Edward Benzel (Editor-in-chief of World Neurosurgery), as he takes us through “Manuscript Writing: Pearls and Pitfalls” and Prof. Anthony Figaji as he talks on “Becoming an Academic neurosurgeon.” Prof. Kee Park will be discussing the “The Journal of Global Neurosurgery: A model for research equity.” The young neurosurgeons will also be announcing an exciting global project aimed at assessing research capacity.
