The World Federation of Neurological Societies (WFNS) Young Neurosurgeons Forum are interested in assessing the global research climate. Answer our online survey on Global Neurosurgery Research: Capacity, Output, and Barriers. We hope to get responses from neurosurgical trainees and neurosurgeons worldwide.

Conducting neurosurgical research is crucial to bridge the gap between evidence-based medicine and clinical practice and improve health care services for the neurosurgical population. However, a substantial imbalance exists in the academic output of LMICs and high-income countries (HICs). The imbalance between need and resources may contribute to discrepancies in the global academic production of neurosurgeons and limitations in research resources and know-how.
We aim to nurture and support research capacity and collegial collaborations internationally by providing research education and support where most needed. As a first step, we hope to gather baseline data on the current research status amongst neurosurgeons.
